EOS Technologies, the technology providers for OTN in the Sultanate
recently attended a conference entitled Enhancing Procurement & Supply
Chain Strategies in Oil & Gas in Jakarta, Indonesia.
The conference, chaired by Dr Graham Smith of Petroleum Development Oman
attracted delegates from across the globe eager to learn best
procurement practice from Industry pioneers and figure-heads. Recognised
as opinion leaders on this subject; the esteemed speakers included Alan
Livingston, CEO of EOS MENA and Dr Smith of PDO.
PDO’s existing system, managed by OTN provided an insightful and
inspiring case study from which Oil & Gas procurement experts began
discussing the future of supply chain management. After listening to
Livingston and Smith; delegates began to appreciate that this superior
level of solution not only exists but translates into tangible
organisational benefits.
In June 2005, EOS announced the acquisition of a major stake in EOS MENA
by the Zubair Corporation. EOS is a young dynamic privately owned
e-commerce company which is rapidly establishing B2B e-commerce
exchanges around the world, and aims to have an exchange operating in
every major country in the world by 2007, each delivered together with
local partners.
Alan Livingston, EOS MENA CEO enthused, “The EOS business model is
primarily targeted at Corporates that want to gain supply chain
connectivity to 100% of their trading partners, which up until the
introduction of the EOS Document Delivery Exchange (DDE) has not been
possible. We have also developed various adaptors for seamless
integration into various backend systems from world leaders like SAP,
Oracle, IBM, and Microsoft.”
When questioned about the delegate response to the presentations; Dr
Smith proudly stated; “It is a pleasure to present what has been done
with PDO, EOS and OTN to a global audience. Oman has one of the most
e-enabled trading communities in the world and is something we should
all be very proud of. I have no doubt that the business model applied
here in the Sultanate will be used as a benchmark for procurement
practice in numerous countries across continents.”
EOS has established regional offices around the world to facilitate the
expansion, and local offices in operating countries through our Country
partners for direct support. Formed in 2003, the company has its HQ in
Dubai (UAE) and a state of the art development centre in India as well
