Today at the Hyatt hotel in Muscat, Zubair Corporation announced their
acquisition of a major stake in the regional operation of EOS
Technologies Inc. one of the world’s fastest growing e-commerce
companies.
The unspecified seven figure investment will help speed the EOS push
into the region and is expected to assist EOS in completing the Middle
East regional network by their target of the end of 2006.
The business which is named EOS MENA will service 24 countries, and will
be based in a new office at the Knowledge Oasis Muscat.
Khalid Zubair said at the press conference today “This agreement brings
to Oman one of today’s leading e-commerce businesses and we believe
brings Oman to the forefront of the regions e-commerce industry.
Zubair
and EOS will now work together to build from Oman a key part of the EOS
Global network which is rapidly expanding. We believe EOS’s strategy of
providing document delivery exchanges which all organizations regardless
of size can benefit at an affordable cost is the way ahead”.
Alan Livingston EOS Technologies CEO, (formerly an original founder of
the highly successful OTN exchange, who was the first EOS partner in the
region) said of the announcement “As a company we could not be more
pleased with our agreement with Zubair. I personally have had dealing
here in Oman going back many years, and I can’t think of a better place
to set-up the regional network. The facilities in KOM are second to
none, and will undoubtedly continue to grow successfully in the exciting
time of growth in the Information Communications Technology (ICT)
market.
Alan continued “Our company strategy is to concentrate on supporting and
maintaining the technology, and increasing market penetration throughout
the world by strong partnerships with local companies. Already we are
starting to build exchanges in UAE, Qatar and Bahrain, with discussions
also underway with potential partners in Yemen, KSA, Kuwait and Egypt;
we envisage that by the end of 2006 we will have over 50,000
organizations connected to our network”.
EOS local partner OTN will continue to service the Oman business and
public sectors many of whom are already included within their 2,500
local and international members that are connected to the network
locally including PDO and many others.
