First CIPS event supported by
global on-line B2B exchange
As one of the world’s fastest growing e-commerce business to
business exchange companies, EOS Technologies Inc. has committed to
sponsoring the Middle East’s first ‘e-sourcing & e-procurement
Conference’ taking place in Dubai on 8th and 9th May 2006.
With a huge presence in the Gulf region, and having recently added a
Qatar branch to its existing bases in India, Oman, the UAE and UK, EOS
will have a strong presence at the Conference, which is under the
Patronage of H.E. Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi, Minister of Economy. The
on-line procurement exchange allows members to find, compare and
purchase services or products, while also being able to list their own
products and services to prospective clients, using nothing more than a
standard web browser, or even direct from their existing ERP system.
Organised by the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS),
this new event is dedicated to helping specialists in the field of
procurement and supply-chain management understand the issues and
potential savings when incorporating e-sourcing and e-procurement into
their overall sourcing strategy. The CIPS is the largest organisation of
its kind in the world, and represents professionals who have a
significant impact on corporate profitability and efficiency.
A support sponsor of the event, EOS will demonstrate its easy-to-use,
e-procurement system to hundreds of purchasing and IT professionals from
all over the region.
Sami Razek VP Marketing of EOS Technologies said, “The fact that the
business of e-procurement in the Middle East is now warranting its own,
dedicated annual conference is testament to the rapid growth of business
to business e-purchasing within both the public and private sectors. It
is imperative that professionals have a full understanding of the scope
and capabilities of e-sourcing and e-procurement, and this Conference is
a perfect opportunity to meet with like-minded consultants, while
learning about new developments and successful case histories.”
Procurement consultants from major blue-chip organisations will share
their experience and knowledge in a series of seminars, during the
two-day event. In addition, discussion panels made up of large Middle
East organisations will discuss and debate the implementation and
success of an e-procurement system.
Razek adds, “Our aim is to help Middle East companies’ open doors to
international trade through successful management of internal and
external processes in a timely and cost effective manner. EOS’
sponsorship of this superb event is an exciting new venture,
particularly given our expansion plans for the next 12 months, and we
look forward to offering our continued support.”
EOS currently provides online access to business communities in every
industry sector including energy, healthcare and construction. With over
4,000 members in Oman (via their Oman partners OTN), EOS Technologies
has already supported numerous corporate transitions into the
e-procurement environment throughout the Middle East region.
